Annual Mt. Pinos RD trail clearing
Author Last Post

!!! ATTENTION TRAIL WORKERS AND WOOD BEE TRAIL WORKERS (Pun intended).  Important dates:

We typically start clearing trials on the Mount Pinos Ranger District (MPRD) in April in preparation for the first weekend in May opening (weather permitting).

CPR/First-Aid class that was cancelled due to bad weather has been rescheduled for February 26th at 8:30AM, 34580 Lockwood Valley Rd. Frazier Park, CA 93225.  This is a required class to obtain a USFS Chainsaw Certification and must be an approved, hands on class (on-line classes are not acceptable).  This class includes a Bloodborne Pathogens Certification.

Remember that Bloodborne Pathogens cards are only good for one year so we all need to renew that card, even if your CPR/First-Aid card is still good.  This card is the only one that  may be renewed on-line which makes things a little easier but will cost you $15.

There are Winching Certification classes at Lake Isabella on February 11 & 12.

We do not have Chainsaw Certification classes scheduled for the MPRD yet but there are classes scheduled for the Sequoia, so if nothing else we can go there.

Everyone doing trail work using a motorcycle must have a Motorcycle Certification (Helpers and Sawyers).  If you want to help and don't have the cert. let let me know so I can get a class scheduled.

These Certification Classes are all offered free of charge to trail workers so please get certified and give us a hand!  Let me know what you need and I will get you signed up and get you more information (Phil).
