this is just an update, if your not going that's ok but if you are....we are going to have a blast.

Ty, Joey and Eric are maybes.

Craig and Lori still need to dust off their bikes.

Kriss and Paul are in maybe they can room together,

Ben and I are rooming together.

Dan is a maybe for the chase truck and ride.

Am I missing anyone?

Friday night im staying at the quality inn in Barstow, anywhere is fine and you don't have to if you don't want to but if you do, it will only be a short drive to baker Saturday morning.

we are all meeting for a riders meeting Saturday morning in the mad greek back lot in baker at 730.

we are staying at the avi hotel sat and sun night.

I will finalize the gps tracks this weekend and send them out.

Also I booked a room at the quality inn Friday night in Barstow. Its a short drive to baker sat morning. they also have a great Mexican place in the hotel. plan on dinner 730 ish. The ramada is just aacross the street too.

This sounds a little like the Barstow to Laughlin ride put on by Jim Pilon. I rode that event in 2005. There was some really neat stuff out of Laughlin, and I may still have the roll charts for that ride.

In any case, I'd like to go! Thanks for "organizing" this unorganized ride. I've been looking for a way to get back out to the eastern Mojave.

if you only want to ride one day we need a support truck to haul over nite back to avi and back. you can ride Saturday.

to all, it may be possible to have an over nite bag if we find a volunteer, it would be a small fee to cover that persons expenses for a hotel. sounds fair to me. otherwise you will need to pack everything you need for the trip in your back pack. and oversized version works well, you only need some flip flops, shorts and a t shirt.

I am hosting a ride from baker to Avi hotel and back. April 21-23

we will stage at or near the Mad Greek back dirt lot in Baker. we will have a riders meeting at 730 am on the 21st of April.
we will ride to Avi about 150 miles and stay the night. with a gas stop at about 110.
the next day we will do a loop out of Avi and stay there again that night. there will be a hard route and a easy route.
the third day we will ride back to baker. this will be Monday the 23rd there is no gas stop on the return and you must carry some gas.

this is thru the Mojave preserve with many cool things to check out, like fort Mojave and the volcanic caves. mostly dirt 2 track there and back with some single track, the second day hard way has some amazing single track.

we will not require a permit but we cannot ride in groups more than 6. and do not tell anyone its an organized event, we are just friends riding together, you will need to be self sufficient. you will need to be able to do trail maintenance on your bike as well as change a flat. be prepared there is no sweep.
